OCIP @ orphanage

The slides at the orphanage.

These are some of the orphans in the orphange.

This is the baby i took care of!

Our group photo with the baby we took care of.

Many of the orphans were in a pitiful state with no love received from their parents. They were mostly picked up from the streets, hospitals and even graveyards according to the principal at the orphanage.

Although the activities we planned could not work as most of them went for a stay in a resort, we spent time interacting with the younger orphans. Some of them had diseases while some were perfectly fine.

I think that the parents who abandoned them are irresponsible, leaving their children to fend for themselves in the wild. Luckily there are people with compassion who took them to the orphanage and await for kind souls to adopt them. Since they decided to give birth to their children, they should fufil their responsibilities as a parent to feed them and bring them up to adulthood.

Through this cip programme, i learnt that they are people who are not as lucky as us to have our parents with us, to have a shelter over our heads, to no need to worry about our meals everyday and have education to provide a safe future. Therefore, we should not take our lives in Singapore for granted and love all that we can! :D
